Background
Michael Gaut, the creator of Envision Remote has worked in the software industry for nearly 40 years. During this time, there has been a transition from simple 4 bit CPUs to the massively more complex devices that we have today. Throughout this time, he has been involved in low level software development, directly writing software initially in assembly language, then in C.
Having worked on many hundreds of customer projects in his lifetime, Michael is part of a rarefied group of people currently writing software based on the knowledge of how CPUs and hardware work. Compared to the 80's, CPUs today are blisteringly fast, yet they still follow the same principles. Understanding what is happening and why greatly improves the ability to diagnose and find faults in any system.
Many initial problems reported with a new product are simply down to user error, perhaps caused by bad documentation or lack of training. Over the decades, Michael has built an extensive knowledge of problems that occur in the real world and how to find them. Envision Remote was created purely as a tool for personal use to allow on site debugging without the need to travel. It clearly became apparent that this could be a product in it's own right and Envision Remote was born.
